As far I understand you are looking for a resort with a hotel to stay closely without car usage. I am afraid the same situation exists over all of our resorts. Kalavytra has enough hotels but not near the resort, same situation here as Parnassus, 7-8km far away from the resort. A good option is here: http://www.georgiosv.gr/index_en.htm

If you are looking for accommodation just by the resort, best options are:
Kaimkatsalan (http://www.kaimaktsalan.gr/) , the northest resort of Greece with probably the biggest operational period, has quality hotel just by the resort.
Another option is Pilio (http://www.skipilio.gr/home.htm) a small snow resort, with small period but with great volume of snow if the wind is NE. With view at the sea and maby the hottest goodies in Greece ! Good food and special ouzo , guarantee at least a happy stomach ! Has not hotel just by it, but very closely 2-3 km.
As you can understand skibus in not a famous option and the best way to drive in any resort, is just using your own car.

Someone could stay in Parnassus Livadi which is only 7 km from snow center. That's the best you can archive since there is not any other accommodation option near the center. Livadi is a big plateau with lot of hotels, apartments and taverns and it's very crowded during Saturday vacations. You can have a look here:

My favorite is Helmos, Kalavryta since it’s very closely to my home. It has not such big options as Parnassus, but in my opinion it is more beautiful and it is less crowded during working days. Have many options for freeride ski, although last 2 winters were not much satisfactory.

In near future, when I have more spare time, I will try to write more information’s about Helmos.

Kozuf is in very early situation. Has not been yet in a fully workable condition, although has many perspectives. Since Greece has not yet solve its problems with Former Republic of Macedonia, I thing Greeks does not vote for Kozuf warmly...Last km to the center , last year was a dirt road, hope has completely constructed this year.
Waiting is a clever option this moment....You can have an idea of Kozuf here (some crazy Greeks...)

Hello Skipper !

Well, Parnassus is probably one of the biggest resort in Greece, just one hour from the sea (Corinthian Gulf) 2 hours driving from Athens (180km) and 160 km from Patras through the new 2.8 km bridge of Rio.





Its season begins from mid December till early May although latest bad years it has operated from late December till late April. It's a great sense and I don’t think if there is any other place where you can ski till noon and in about an hour eating fish by the sea wave (there is better option, Kalavryta, less than hour reaching the sea !)

Its altitude begins from 1600 till 2250 meters.

It has great opportunity to become bigger since the latest announcements from travel minister, and I hope (...) next years will become better and bigger. The whole situation becomes more interesting if someone knows that mountain does not stop at 2250 m but it continues till 2500 almost with a great plateau waiting for lifts... Cat skiing is an way to reach there or mountaineering ski. The lifts are rather old as the other equipment too. New modern ratrack convert tracks into beautiful carpet and the snow is pretty good ever more if someone thinks that it's a resort situated in almost Southwest part of Europe (there is Helmos-Kalavryta and Mainalo southwest, if someone points interest I will write for Kalavryta also).



Latest years some events are happening, like mountain bike festival last September http://www.skifun.gr...e-festival.html , night skiing http://www.skifun.gr...opic,841.0.html carnival party at sale http://www.skifun.gr...opic,884.0.html and so on. There is also opportunity for speedflying in less crowded pistes.... Has a great option for paragliding also both summer and winter.

Transportation is a minus I suppose since it has not direct and dense communication with Athens. Some buses organize trips to Parnassos, but the better and fastest way to reach someone is by his own car.

Early booking will prevent some troubles, especially during vacations.


Delphi http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Delphi is a must visiting or small villages around like Tithorea and so on.
Food is pretty good as usual, although it became too expensive last years with euro arrival, at least for locals.
